Power Hungry Monster

A person who steals from another person, even for the reason of need, is a thief. What then is the classification of a person who was entrusted with enormous amount of power but uses that power to steal millions of money  from millions of people who are deeply in need? Corrupt, crook, pig, thief and plunderer are kind words for someone like him. Corruption is evil. And a corrupt government official is dishonest, immoral, pervert, dishonorable, indecent, unprincipled, untrustworthy, unethical, crooked, conscienceless, shameless.

Since day one, the incumbent Philippine President Benigno Simeon Aquino III blames the former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (GMA) for almost every wrongdoing in the government. For President Noynoy Aquino (PNoy), the now jailed former President is a very corrupt leader. His accusations being apparent and justifiable were accepted early on by the Filipino people. But as time passes by, the accusation becomes repetitive and redundant; and many Filipinos had noticed that his allegations are but deviations, cover-ups for his incompetence and own brand of corruption. The detained former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo maybe a corrupt President; but it appears that Noynoy Aquino is as corrupt if not more corrupt than her. That is why, if indeed Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is corrupt and therefore shameless; Noy Aquino is more shameless than her.

Both Aquino and Arroyo are offspring of former President. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is the daughter of former President Diosdado Macapagal, while Noynoy is the only son of former President Cory Aquino, who is not just a former President, but also considered by many Filipinos to be a hero and a saint. Noynoy Aquino catapulted for Presidency because of his mother. He and his advisers, party mates, and relatives simply used the sentiment of the people on his mother’s death to become President. His bid for Presidency came right after Cory’s death; and it was announced by his sister Kris Aquino at the funeral rites of their mother. During the campaign, all he had was a promise, “a straight path”, a path that turns out to be nothing but empty political ads. It would have been better if it was indeed an empty promise; unfortunately, seemingly it is loaded, for it seems that it is a straight path of delusion to hell. His major accomplishment so far was the passing of the wicked and very divisive Reproductive Health Bill, which I doubt if his mother, if still alive, would approve.

“From great power comes great responsibility.” I am not certain if Aquino is aware of what a great responsibility is. But apparently, he had forgotten that his political power comes from his heroic parents, and that he is politically nothing without them. The Presidency was simply served to him on silver platter because of his parent’s heroism. It was given to him by the people who love his parents and also love him since he is the only son of their champions. He should have had a sense of gratitude to protect their legacy and fight for what they fought for and believed in. His parents are heroes, but except for empty heroic words that he reads in his speeches, there is nothing heroic about PNoy. Seemingly, he is not of the same cloth.  He has the guts to say, “My mother had Marcos; I have Gloria” as if he is as heroic as his mother who toppled a powerful dictator for 20 years, and as if he uttered a single word of defiance against the imprisoned Gloria Macapagal Arroyo when GMA was the President of the Republic that he now leads. Moreover, is he like his father? Would he ride an airplane knowing that it will bring him to his demise? PNoy is deranged to even consider himself close to being a hero. Being greedy for power, he doesn’t know the meaning of the word sacrifice, by which what heroism is all about. His mother sacrificed power for the sake of democracy; whereas him, he wants to sacrifice democracy for the sake of personal power. Heroism, definitely, is not in the blood. It is a state of being, something given not claimed. And the President, being power-drunk and arrogant, is far away from being a hero. Power corrupts” and Joker’s not even a comic hero.

Being the only son of my champions, like what I did during his mother’s bid for Presidency, I voted and fought for PNoy to become President. My blogs during the campaign period for Presidency can attest to that. I revived my hope in Philippine politics because of him; once again I was hopeful. I once put my hope on Former President Fidel Valdez Ramos, who turned out to be nothing but a crooky jester; FVR was also a curse and a frustration. The two Presidents that were elected after him both end up in jail. Where is the hope in this kind of political atmosphere? And it turned out that Noy Aquino is not just weak and hopeless, he is also shameless. A year ago, I have reservation on the idea of seeing him in jail. But as time goes by, his arrogance has gone beyond his hairless head. Now I succumbed to the idea; he should end up in jail, if that would made him a better man, to once and for all remove that weird duplistic smile on his face.

I keenly studied PNoy’s character and brand of government. In my analysis, it appears that Noy Aquino is a cunning leader. He is even more deceitful than Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. In my search, these are but a few of the proofs that I’d found:  (1.) GMA never uses her family to justify her self-inflict governance weakness. Whereas Noynoy Aquino, when his back is against the wall, cried and summoned the names of his parents to induced more sympathy from his political fanatics. Not just Noynoying, but also Ngoyngoying (softly crying) should be one of his names. (2) Whenever a corruption issue against her arises, Arroyo was shameful enough to simply hide and not go-on-public to explain her side. And when she did, if she was forced to do so, her explanation was brief and short. Unlike Aquino who uses drama absurd articulation, and long speeches to justify his side. (3) Mrs. Arroyo accepts mistake and has the guts to admit to the public that she is sorry for her mistake. Aquino believes that he is infallible, one who doesn’t make mistake. The precept “it takes to to tango” means nothing to him. As in ironic reality of real life, he thinks that he is a great dancer, although he can’t even walk well. (4.) Former President Arroyo doesn’t use drama to thrive on the sympathy of her follower. Unlike the dramatic Noynoying Aquino, who is a Drama and a Pork-Barrel King; Gloria Arroyo is not a drama queen when she was still a President. However, I believe that being dramatic is not a weakness but a cunning attribute of a crafty leader. To reveal a put on weakness in order to vibrate a sympathetic chord from the sentimental foolish followers is a technique of a creative Head of Scams. (5.) GMA never threatened The Supreme Court nor questioned its ruling; Noynoy did. His conceit made him think that he is above the law. (6.) Arroyo was not as consistent and as resourceful as Aquino when it comes to the issue of term extensions. When it comes to thirst for power, Aquino’s appetite is insatiable; such a person is a dangerous power hungry monster.

When he was still a senator, Benigno Simeon Aquino, compared to other young and fiery senators like Allan Cayetano and Chiz Escudero, was practically a bench warmer in the Senate. He has no personal track record of political accomplishments. I never heard him made a stand on any major issue during his senatorial stint: he is like a bell without a ring, a string with no sound vibration. Unfortunately, the Presidency has only showed that essentially he is a bankrupt. And if indeed he has the blood of heroes and therefore not corrupt; he has no solid foundation, a weakling, who is easily swayed by people with vested interest around him. He is a puppet of corruption being the ultimate allocator of the evil and illegal DAP. However, Aquino was made to believe by his mind and by his fanatic followers that he is a political messiah that should stay in power for another six years if not forever.

During the Presidential campaign, he was accused of being a wacko. The accusation for a time died down when he became President. But when criticism against him starts to pour in; his critics, especially those with vested political interest, called him Abnoy, which means “abnormal Noynoy”. I never called him that name; but at this point, I must admit that I am beginning to think otherwise. It appears that those name callers most probably are right; and the insanity rumor about him during the campaign was true. He is not normal. And being surrounded by power greedy insane whisperers, He was already corrupted by power. He is drunk and intoxicated by it; the reason why at this point, seemingly, he is lacking in shame.

Ostensibly, PNoy is the stalwart head of a syndicate political party that wants to stay in power forever. He is the King of Pork, the protector of corrupt government officials, the allocator of DAP, The number one enemy of transparency in the government, the ultimate impediment of the much needed FOI Bill, the wicked godfather of the very divisive and irreligious RH law, a parasite leader, who is helpless against the problems about the basic needs of the people.  He is both a blessing and a curse. But he is not all bad. For one, he is a great speech reader, who also has a potential of becoming a great dramatic actor in Philippine soap operas. He is a very loyal friend of corrupt government officials, a hardheaded nutshell leader that follows the will of his “bosses” who are actually no one but him. Ostensibly, PNoy is an excellent team player in the game of corruption. He is also a talker and not a walker; since aside from his jokerly face that made him charming, he was blessed with convincing power of speech. He’s an exceptional ability to say things that everybody wants to hear, while doing things that everyone hated most. PNoy is not bad; rather, he is one of the worst. He is not a mediocrity (at least). Filipinos, indeed, are resilient; and The Philippines is an exceptionally strong country, for her to manage to survive despite the calamities, the widespread corruption, and having leaders like him.

Every disease has a symptom. When PNoy uses his power to urgently pass the RH law, I declared that he is either corrupt or stupid. It was at that time when he was at the height of his popularity; the time when no one believes that the only son of modest heroes can be as brazen as he is. Many years later, I had proven that I was right. All roads of corruption in the government under his administration lead to him; and being the Pork Barrel King is only one of them. The idea that PNoy is not corrupt and only those who are around him are corrupt is not a naïve idea of a half-witted person. Rather, it is a shrewd effort of his accomplice to justify and to bail out his un-heroic deeds. PNoy is the Chief Executive of a corrupt bureaucracy, and there is a rule called command responsibility. All corruptions lead to him. And the fact that he’d done nothing about it; and by his words and action, he is protecting those involved in the fraud, is enough proof that he is the over-all leader of the parasitic Scams in the government.

NOTE: When the going gets tough the tough gets going. President Aquino is not just hardheaded; he is also a tough leader. “For both of them to be productive a hammer is harsh on the nail”. I ask for forgiveness, my primary intention is not to offend anyone. But this is a tough time and a tough future waits ahead; commentaries should be as tough: All for the love of country. And I hope and pray that PNoy is the kind of person he claims himself to be: a hero, and like his parents, a true lover of his country.

As if God heard my prayer and He responded, a week after I posted this blog The President came out with a much welcome pronouncement:  "No second term for me" . Maybe just a concidence, but thank you dear-most God; thank you Mister President!
